Show Buzzz . . .
December, 2011
William "Bill" Ross McGee passed away peacefully after a brief illness on December 21, 2011. He was 68 years old.
Bill, together with his wife Carolyn, was the proprietor of Lady Hawke Antiques a participant in the Thornbury Antiques Shows. Bill loved to share his enthusiasm and passion for antiques collecting with many of the people he encountered at our winter and summer shows over the past ten years. He was well known and highly respected for his knowledge about antiques and collectibles by many of the Thornbury show patrons and his passing will surely leave a void in the hearts and minds of his fellow dealers who enjoyed his insight, his camaraderie and his sharing of a good antiques story. Bill, you will be missed by us all.

A great good looking crowd for this Summer's event. As usual lots of young parents and their toddlers, all looking, thinking, discussing and purchasing that "must have" item. An excellent show all round!
Our caterers for this Summer's show are the recent winners of the 27th Annual Thornbury Clarksburg Rotary Chili Cookoff held this year in conjunction with the Ribfest at the Cedar Run Horse Park in Clarksburg. The Chambermades (who were sponsored by the Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce) will be your hosts for light luncheons at the show. The 21st Annual Thornbury Winter Antique Show, March 12 & 13, 2011 was a great success. This was, quite possibly, due in part to the addition of a number of new young collectors. Some we have seen before but also many new ones. Lots of baby snuggles, strollers and youngsters with their parents. These young people were all happy, smiling and buying, making for a great show atmosphere.
This little guy was a happy camper for the long
two hours his parents spent at the show.

Our Thornbury Summer Antiques Show, August 14 & 15, 2010 was, as usual, a high point for our regular summer visitors and tourists to this four-seasons recreational area of Georgian Bay. The lineup at opening on Saturday was at least 75 to 100 people and the traffic continued all day Saturday. Sunday was a little slower but still many sales were made. Thankfully our Community Centre is fully air-conditioned as it was quite hot and humid outside.

The 20th Annual Thornbury Winter Antiques Show held March 13 & 14, 2010 had a great turnout of enthusiastic buyers and lookers including lots of young couples interested in taking part in the "Green Revolution!" People flooded in from the 10am opening on Saturday to slow down only late Sunday afternoon but still sales continued until closing time on Sunday.
Happy Customers making for Happy Dealers!
